Questions before buying
Can Wormhole Remote connect to any VNC server?
No, Wormhole Remote is a new technology completely separate from VNC.
Can I access my computer from over the internet?
For now, Wormhole Remote requires a local network connection. In the near future, we will be providing an easy way to connect over the Internet. Until then, you may be able to use a software solution such as Sharetool by Yazsoft.
Will additional operating systems be supported?
We're working on creating a client that works on Mac OS X Leopard and Windows XP/Vista/7.
Does Wormhole Remote support audio?
Not yet. We are investigating options for audio transmission.
Is Wormhole Remote encrypted?
Wormhole Remote's communications over your local network are not encrypted. As a result, Wormhole Remote's communication is only as secure as your local wireless network. Please make sure you have secure encryption on your network, such as WPA or WPA2.
Troubleshooting
Why won't Wormhole work with certain applications?
Currently, applications written for the Carbon framework (advertised as being compatible with OS X earlier than 10.5) will not work with Wormhole Remote. Most notably, these include the Adobe Creative Suite applications such as Photoshop. We're working actively to support these applications in the next server release.
After pairing, I see a "No applications" screen.
SIMBL may not have been installed correctly. Try to download and install SIMBL here:
SIMBL-0.9.7a.zip. If that does not resolve the problem, please contact me below.
After pairing, all I see is "Finder" in my application list.
The SIMBL installer may have failed to properly install the SIMBL agent. To repair, run this command in Terminal:
sudo cp "/Library/ScriptingAdditions/SIMBL.osax/Contents/Resources/SIMBL Agent.app/Contents/Resources/net.culater.SIMBL.Agent.plist" /Library/LaunchAgents/
You will have to enter your password, and then log out and back in. If it still does not work, please contact me below.
If I need to uninstall Wormhole Remote Server from a computer, how do I do that?
Just delete "/Applications/Wormhole Remote Server.app" and "/Library/Application Support/SIMBL/Plugins/Wormhole Remote SIMBL Component.bundle", then log out and back in.
